Lorraine Denis, K/1st grade, Lead Teacher

This is my 11th year teaching ESE. I love incorporating hands-on activities in my classroom to make learning fun. I strive to increase my students’ academic, social and independent functioning skills.

Viviana Vargas, K/1st grade, Instructional Assistant

I came from Colombia to the USA less than 2 years ago and feel very fortunate to be working in Chasco Elementary with such wonderful people and very special children. As a mother of a child with Down Syndrome, I understand families’ difficulties and hope I can help develop the child’s skills and address all their needs.

Judith Gerena, K/1st grade,  Instructional Assistant 

I’ve been an Early Educator for 16 years and continue to seek my education for Early Learning. Teaching is a passion I’ve always had, as well as helping children learn and grow so that they may accomplish their developmental milestones.

My name is Nathan Shocklee, I grew up in Texas and double-majored in Psychology and Philosophy. This is my third year teaching.

Hi, I’m Ms. G! I graduated from USF with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.  I have been working at Chasco Elementary School since 2021. I enjoy working with the students to help them reach their behavior and academic goals.

Hi, I’m Mrs. Kellie and I have been working at Chasco since February of 2023. I’m from New Hampshire and moved to Florida about a year ago. My family is very important to me and I enjoy spending my free time with them.

Melissa Price, Behavior Specialist

Hi Families! My name is Melissa Price. I am the Behavior Specialist for the Social, Behavior, Communication Program (SBCP). I started working in Pasco County as an ESE Instructional Assistant in 2005 and began as a Teacher of Autism in 2009. I earned my master’s degree in Exceptional Student Education with a focus on Applied Behavior Analysis and am currently working toward my doctorate in organizational leadership with an emphasis in special education. Advocating and working with students is my passion and what I was meant to do.

Hello! My name is Deja, but the kids call me ‘Miss D.’ I have found my passion here at Chasco and have spent the past 3 years working here. I am currently pursuing my B.S. in Exceptional Student Education at USF and look forward to being one of their teachers when I graduate!
